‘I am in showbiz because of my

MNC

colleagues’

I had actually come to Bengaluru to pursue a career in the software industry, while also dabbling with modelling as a hobby. My colleagues often wondered what I was doing in an MNC and egged me on to try my hand in showbiz, as they believed that I belonged on the screen. Buoyed by this encouragement, I headed out to my first audition for a Kannada serial, and things picked up from there.
I bagged Demo Piece because the director, Vivek A, had liked my work in Brahmagantu. While I had gotten movie offers even earlier in Kannada and other languages, I was waiting for the perfect launch for my debut and Demo Piece fit the bill. It has all the elements of a good entertainer, so, I had no second thoughts before signing on the dotted line.

Playing Harsha in Demo Piece
Demo Piece follows the escapades of college student Harsha, who wishes to lead a lavish lifestyle and woo the prettiest girls on campus. But his reality is in stark contrast to his ambitions. The story focuses on his personal journey with his peers and his parents. Harsha is a very relatable character, who literally took me back to my college days. He is mischievous, which is quite a contrast to how I am in real life. I am very quiet and laid back (chuckles).

Balancing TV and film work
While working on Demo Piece, I was also juggling two serials, simultaneously — one in Kannada and the other in Telugu, called Jothi. My schedule was jam-packed. I would often finish shooting in Hyderabad, land in Bengaluru, head to the Brahmagantu set, and then to Demo Piece.

Though I played different characters in each project, I was easily able to shift in and out of each of them, thanks to the ambience created on the set. And I’m indebted to the teams of each for ensuring there was no overlap and allowing me to balance multiple projects.
