Dayal Padmanabhan’s next is a tale of women’s empowerment

Director Dayal Padmanabhan has been on a roll for a while. He has already made three films in less than a year and is looking at making another three by the end of 2019. The filmmaker, who is preparing for the release of his film with Raghavendra Rajkumar, Rohitt and Anupama Gowda, has already begun putting together his next project.
Set to go on floors on April 29, the film, called Ranganayaki: Volume 1 Virginity, will star Aditi Prabhudheva in the lead, along with director-actor MG Srinivas and TV star Trivikram.
Written by Dayal, the film explores how a victim of rape deals with what happened to her as purely an accident, without wallowing in self pity. The director’s regular accomplice, actor-writer Naveen Krishna, fills in as dialogue writer yet again. “Going forward, I will make one film a year in the Ranganayaki franchise, each of which will ve based on a subject of women’s empowerment,” says Dayal.
