The freedom fighter bravely fought the British East India Company till his death. Recounting the preparations that went into making the blockbuster 2012 movie
Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna, Darshan tells us, “The one thing that I find very interesting about the freedom fighter is that he was born on August 15 (Independence Day) and hanged on January 26 (Republic Day).
After going through the script, I started reading up on him. I am not a book reader, but I read around 3-4 books on Sangolli Rayanna to get a feel of what he was like, his personality, etc. After doing my research, I started wondering if I could pull off playing him as I didn’t think that I could match the legendary freedom fighter.”
