Next time when you meet your sweetheart, just say ‘Colourful’ instead of ‘I Love You’ because the lip movement for both is the same. This is something that the heroine teaches the hero in the movie. Director Nagashekar has woven a powerful romantic story around a polio-stricken woman who faces many hurdles to lead a peaceful life. While the first half is brilliant and powerful with romance as the theme, the second has some action and sentiment with a climax that is sure to bring a tear or two.

Full marks to director Nagashekar, the maker of ‘Sanju weds Geetha’, for excellent portrayal of a love story between a polio-stricken girl and a boy who wins her heart by pretending to be a beggar without legs. He marries her and later faces murder charges, thanks to many turns and twists in the story. With a good script, the director has added freshness to the story with new ideas in narration combined with punchy dialogues by Nagashekar and Manjunath Sanjiv.

The story revolves around Myna (Nithya Menen) who has lost both her legs due to polio. Sathya (Chethan), an orphan, falls in love with her. They get married and are set to lead a happy life. That’s when the villain arrives in the form of doctor Anirudh Desai (Ajay). He clicks nude photos of Myna on the pretext of curing her polio-affected legs and posts them on online. He also demands that Myna sleeps with him for a day. An enraged Sathya kills him and throws his body into a river. The body is recovered and police officer BB Ashokkumar (Sarath Kumar) takes up the case and sympathizes with the couple after Sathya narrates his story. But Sathya faces 35 murder charges which he denies. When police decide to prosecute Sathya, he escapes. The story ends in an unexpected climax after some drama at a railway station. Don’t miss this sentimental climax.

Nithya Menen as the girl next door brings cheers and tears with her amazing performance as a physically challenged girl with an innocent smile. Full marks to Chethan for his expression, body language and dialogue delivery. Jassie Gift has some catchy numbers for you. But it’s cinematographer Sathya Hegde who walks away with all honours with brilliant piece of camerawork.
