Bharjari

Surya is an orphan raised lovingly by his dead mother's best friend. While he may not be the ideal son, who is well settled with a good job, his mother dotes on him and wants him to find the ideal bride. And Surya ends up encountering not one, but three different women who change the course of his life. Does Surya end up with a happily ever after?

Chethan Kumar and Dhruva Sarja teamed up for Bahaddur for the first time and delivered a hit. This time around, the duo have teamed up for another extravagant massy family entertainer. And Bharjari has nearly all the necessary commercial elements needed that appease the audience. In the end, the film leaves one entertained and the comedy, action and romance are enough to get that paisa vasool tag.

The film begins with the introduction of the hero, Surya, who is an orphan with the ambitions of becoming a soldier (he even sports a SOLDIER tattoo!). The film shows him being a rough-and-tough guy with his heart always worn on his sleeve. Enter Gowri, a woman who falls for him. When you think they get engaged and have a happily ever after, there are more twists and turns with two more women entering his life.

The film is a commercial entertainer and, in that sense, offers a good mix of the required elements. And like most films in this genre, one is reminded of other films of this sort ranging from Jab We Met to Brindavanam and Vajrakaya, but Bharjari has its own identity eventually. The first half works for the college crowd with a cutesy love story, while the second appeals to the family crowd — which ensures the director has something for everyone.

The film definitely marks the graduation of Dhruva as an actor (never mind the fact that he is an SSLC fail in the film), as he charms the audience through the film. Rachita Ram packs in another winsome performance, while Hariprriya and Vaishali Deepak have their own appeal that adds to the story. The film also boasts a big ensemble cast who do their bits. The background score, fights and cinematography need a special mention.

This is a mass entertainer, which nearly works with a slight lag in the second half. But it does have enough to ensure at least one visit to the cinema halls. For fans of Dhruva, the Action Prince ensures he gives them just what they asked for. If commercial drama is your kind, this might just work for you.
