If good theatre productions impress Lucknowites, Lucknowites have impressed the actors who’ve come to stage their plays in the city for being such a mature audience. The theatre enthusiasts in town appreciate a good story when they see it.
So both, Atul Tiwari’s Taoos Chaman Ki Myna, set in the Lucknow of yore, and Saurabh Shukla’s 2 To Tango/ 3 To Jive, featuring well-known faces from the entertainment industry, received an overwhelming response.

The plays were staged as part of the recently concluded theatre fest in the city.
“The response in Lucknow has been overwhelming,” Saurabh said later, adding, “The audience understood every nuance, every detail, it is so exciting to perform before such a crowd.” Achint Kaur, Sadia Siddiqui and Preeti Mamgain played important roles in the play. After Lucknow, the two plays were staged in neighbouring Kanpur
This was actress Sadia Siddiqui’s first visit to Lucknow. And apart from appreciating the Lucknow audience, she was excited to experience the North Indian winters. “We keep buying all these woollens which we never get to use in Mumbai. I packed all of them on this visit. I’m loving the winters in Lucknow,” she said. The Mumbai lass couldn’t help but gush over Lucknow food as well. “Mumbai mein achcha khana nahi milta hai,” she said ruefully, “Wahanpe you always eat on the go. And I am a foodie, so I’m thoroughly enjoying all the yummy food here.”
