Filmmaker Rima Das receives award for 'Bulbul Can Sing' at the 66th National Film Awards for Best Assamese Film. The announcement was made as she was attending the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) along with Shah Rukh Khan. The same film was also conferred with the Best Indie Film award at the festival. Speaking to us from Melbourne she says, “This is the second year in a row and I am all smiles because Shah Rukh Khan broke the news at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne! I’m humbled and honoured that Bulbul Can Sing got national recognition along with international.

It is notable, that Rima is receiving this award for the second time as her other film 'Village Rockstars' won the Best Feature Film award at the last National Film Awards.
