Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt
will pay a musical homage to
Mahatma Gandhi in
London
on
Gandhi Jayanti, October 2. Bhatt, who created the Mohan Veena, has been invited by
Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan
to perform on Gandhi’s birthday in London. Says Bhatt, “I feel very fortunate to have been invited to pay homage to the great leader. I have paid tribute to him on his birthday a few years ago in Liverpool as well. Once again, I will try to bring alive his famous bhajans through the strings of my veena.” Bhatt will be presenting several compositions, including Vaishnav Jan and Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram, at the concert.
