Music composer-singer Vikaas Vishwakarma recently sat for a cup of candid conversation with ETimes. During the same, he spilled tea on a number of topics, starting from how he fell for music and choosing it as a profession that was predestined for him.
“So since my childhood, I remember always having a knack for music. The moment I used to hear any musical sound I used to be driven away by it.
So it was never a presupposed thought at the back of my mind that music would be my bread & butter. So you can say I was pre-destined to come to this profession,” said the composer who recently showcased his work in the song ‘Khushamadeed’.
“However, one thing I would like to tell you is my paternal grandmother that is my Dadi had a huge hunger for music. You can say she acted as a catalyst when everyone else in my family was strictly against me coming into this profession,” he added.
Further, in the conversation, we asked Vikaas Vishwakarma, what is that one thing which he believes poses as a challenge in music composition, and while opening up on this topic, he expressed, “Keeping in mind with the current trends in music, making sure to put your best effort possible each and every time is hard without a doubt. However, one thing which I should shed light upon is that in earlier times you had one composer taking up the entire film but gradually the working mode shifted to multiple composers taking up one particular movie. So, you know the positive side is that it’s not one man’s show but simultaneously this is also correct that with multiple music composers working on one movie you literally need to toil hard to come into the eyes of the production houses.”
Nevertheless, the artist believes, that those who have command over their skill, can overcome any challenge. He also adds that a journey without hurdles is anyway boring.
On this note, we asked Vikaas to also share with us his upcoming projects, and he said, “recently, I have had a few projects in my bucket amongst which are
Randeep Hooda’s film, then there were two singles with Javed Ali, Sahil Khan & many more.”
“I also got the opportunity to compose ‘nazam’ which is written by actor Dharmendra,” concluded Vikaas.
