Amitabh Bhattacharya for 'Zehnaseeb' from Hasee Toh Phasee
Singing sensation, Amitabh Bhattacharya has been nominated for his soothing number, 'Zehnaseeb' from the film, Hasee Toh Phasee. The National Award-winner has penned the romantic duet sung by Shekhar Ravjiani and Chinmayi Sripada. Featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra, 'Zehnaseeb' was loved by music connoisseurs for its touching lyrics and music that left the romantic souls spellbound.

Gulzar for 'Bismil' from Haider
Giving the young guns a tough competition, legendary lyricist of Bollywood, Gulzar has again been nominated for the Filmfare Award in the Best Lyrics category for the song 'Bismil' from Haider. The power-packed musical play performed by Shahid Kapoor in the Vishal Bharadwaj film, Haider was applauded for its story moulded in lyrics by Gulzar. Sung by Sukhwinder Singh, the song hinted at the film’s plot.

Kausar Munir for 'Suno na sangemarmar' from Youngistaan
Kausir Munir has been nominated for the Filmfare Award in the Best Lyrics category for the year’s most romantic number, 'Suno na sangemarmar' from the film, Youngistaan. The song ruled the music charts for weeks all thanks to its soothing music and touching lyrics. Sung by Arijit Singh, the song is definitely a memorable one with a long shelf life.

Irshad Kamil for 'Patakha guddi' from Highway
Irshad Kamil of Rockstar fame has been nominated under the Best Lyrics category for the popular song, 'Patakha guddi' from Highway. Sung by sisters, Jyoti Nooran and Sultana Nooran and composed by AR Rahman, the credit for Patakha Guddi’s off-the-league lyrics goes to Irshad Kamil who also garnered immense popularity for Aashiqui 2. The song stands out for its folksy appeal and rustic voice which encourages one to take on life’s challenges head-on.

Rashmi Singh for 'Muskurane ki wajah' from CityLights
Rashmi Singh has been nominated for the Filmfare award under the Best Lyrics category for her simple but meaningful number 'Muskurane ki wajah' from Citylights. Producer Mahesh Bhatt wanted a song which was easy to sing but had the depth to portray the love story of a married couple in the film. Rashmi wrote the wonderful emotional number that was sung by Arijit Singh and composed by Jeet Ganguly.
