Zeeshan Khan: I like to breathe the experiences I have lived into my music - Exclusive

In the world of melodious tales and heartfelt rhythms, Zeeshan Khan's ‘Pyaar Dobara’ has carved a special place. In a recent conversation with ETimes, Zeeshan spoke about his latest release, his experience of working with one of the beloved artists Sara Gurpal, his plans to make Bollywood songs, and much more.

Here are the excerpts from the interview:

The bond with comedian Zakir Khan and the relationship’s influence on his music career

We asked Zeeshan how his relationship with Zakir Khan has influenced his career in the music industry. The singer replied, “Our sibling bond is precisely what it's supposed to be, filled with unconditional love and support. He has significantly impacted me as an individual, constantly motivating me to excel in my endeavours. This is a remarkable aspect, and I've committed to ensuring that, even when I revisit my own work in five years, I'll do so with a sense of fulfillment, dedicated to maintaining a standard of excellence without any creative concessions.”

‘Pyaar Dobara’

Zeeshan recently made it to the music charts with his latest song ‘Pyaar Dobara’. Talking about what inspired the concept and lyrics, the songster told us, “'Pyaar Dobara' is a feeling, an emotion, and is about anyone who has gone through a heartbreak. Love in many instances is about missed chances, loss, and regret and it is not often that people are able to spend the rest of their lives with their first love. But the song has a message that one must look forward to happiness rather than look back with regret.”

“I like to breathe the experiences I have lived into my music, and through this song, I hope to convey that 'Dil toota hai- Duniya khatam nahi ho gayi, gham se bahar nikalye' (If your heart is broken, it is not the end of the world). The world has a lot to offer. Meet more people and the more you embrace life, the better you will feel,” he added.

Working with Sara Gurpal

Zeeshan Khan not only sang the song but also featured in the video with Sara Gurpal, a famous face from Punjabi and Haryanvi music industry. In our candid conversation, he spoke at length about working with her. He mentioned, “She very gracefully agreed to do this song with us and has brought a lot of beauty to it. I cannot thank her enough for this gesture. During the shoot too, she helped us a lot and made us all feel very comfortable. I am not a professional actor and there are some angles in which you feel very awkward, but she helped me to manage it with utmost grace. That’s her graciousness and nobility as an artist. The power of collaboration is that it blends the emotions of two people together and Sara has made this song even more magical.”

Plans for Bollywood

Further, we asked the singer in addition to singles like ‘Pyaar Dobara,’ does he have any aspirations to record songs for Bollywood movies. “To be honest, anyone who is into the music industry in India wants to be a part of Bollywood and be a playback singer. I look forward to such opportunities and inshallah, if I ever get them, I will definitely do my best. Having said that, I don't want to restrict myself to just one genre. I am willing to do any song that suits my voice,” said the singer.
