Speaking about the film at a recent event, composer Shankar Mahadevan expressed disappointment at it not doing well. He said that it wasn't the first time such a thing had happened to them, giving a reference of 'Jhoom Barabar Jhoom'. Shankar said that disappointment is natural when a film does not do well and they were all disappointed at 'Mirzya' not being a hit but assed that often some musical pieces go beyond the film.
