Like last year,
Navratri celebrations are low-key this year as well, owing to the pandemic and the protocols in place. Singer
Palak Muchhal, who has been missing the fun, hosted a small garba party at her home last night. The singer, who has often sung Navratri tracks in films, loves celebrating the festival. She says, “I love doing garba. I’ve attended Falguni Pathak’s dance events, and usually, I am called to be the guest at these functions, where I make sure to step down and dance on dandiya numbers with others.
I missed celebrating Navratri last year, so this year, I made sure I did something about it. I invited a few people home for a small celebration last night. We danced to dandiya songs to keep the spirit of the festival alive. I love dancing, and I’ve also sung a few dandiya songs for Bollywood films like 'Rammo Rammo' in 'Bhuj: The Pride of India' and 'Dholida' in 'LoveYatri'. I enjoy it when I get to sing these peppy Navratri numbers.”
Talking about the special menu that she had planned, Palak shares, “It was a complete Gujarati menu, which included dhokla, undhiyu and jalebi-fafda. Everyone was asked to wear traditional outfits to add to the festivity. I opted for a chaniya choli and some jewellery to go with it.”
