Aditya Narayan seems to have finally found his bearings. The youngster, who had almost disappeared from the limelight after hosting reality shows and debuting as an actor with Vikram Bhatt’s Shaapit (2010), is back with renewed ardour. He has not only rendered two songs in Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-leela, but also assisted Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the film. My debut, Shaapit, didn’t do well and I didn’t get good roles after that. Failure is a lesson well learnt. It got me thinking about what I really wanted to do in life.
How did the decision to assist Sanjay come about? After my film’s debacle, I took some time off and started hosting X-Factor, which is where I met Sanjay sir. When I expressed my desire to assist him, he was hesitant initially. However, there was no looking back once I began. I assisted him in the music department as well.
No wonder you bagged Tattad Tattad and Ishqyaun Dhishqyaun… Tattad Tattad was first offered to my father. But I had recorded a scratch version and Sanjay sir decided to retain that in the film.

Any offers to sing? Nothing as yet. When I spoke to my father about it, he told me about his days of struggle, and I realised that I have actually had it easy. For the first time, I have started meeting people and asking for work, which I realise is necessary. I’ve been spoilt for long. Also, the filmmaking experience has been an eye-opener. The level of hard work people put into a film is incredible.
