13 crore deal for Vidya Balan

Vidya Balan's love for sarees is quite evident. The actress is often seen sporting the most exotic sarees with aplomb. She carries off the nine yards with such elan that now a saree brand has approached her to endorse their line of sarees. What's more, the actress will apparently be paid a whopping sum of Rs 13 crore for the year-long campaign, or so claims a report on Desimartini.com. The report further states that while Vidya is yet to give her nod to the deal, the brand owners think that Vidya is perfect to endorse their products as she has a pan-Indian appeal.

Meanwhile, check out Vidya's avatar on the cover of Filmfare in the next slide...

While we usually get to see dolled-up versions of Bollywood stars on Filmfare magazine covers, Vidya Balan’s photoshoot has left everyone guessing. All set for the release of her next film, Hamari Adhuri Kahani, Vidya has stepped into the shoes of the iconic character, Charlie Chaplin for Filmfare’s cover. Dressed up in a hat, a dark suit, and sporting a fake moustache, Vidya looks cute and manages to give a perfect tribute to the legendary English comic actor. She will also be paying pictorial tributes to Raj Kapoor, Gurudutt, Madhubala and Kishore Kumar in Filmfare’s latest issue.

Often dubbed to be the Mrs Perfectionist of Bollywood, Vidya Balan has played some outstanding, unconventional roles but is known for her conventional fashion sense. The proud recipient of the Padma Shri Award, a National Award and several Filmfare and other prestigious awards is all set to set a new benchmark by stepping into more than a dozen get-ups for Bobby Jasoos. Let's take a look at some of her best-dressed moments.

Backless blouses: Vidya Balan is hot and doesn’t shy away from flaunting what she’s got. The Dirty Picture actress makes heads turn when she sashays down in a simple sari paired with a backless blouse. The diva keeps it conventional with the six yards of fabric but balances the look with bold blouses. While performing a Ganesh Puja or attending an event, Vidya sets the temperatures soaring with her blouses.

Sporty attitude: Vidya Balan must have definitely been a naughty kid as she goes all out for the promotional events of her films. Vidya made headlines when she stepped out with a baby bump for the promotion of her film Kahaani. Not only this, she was also criticised for wearing a gaudy transparent sari for the promotions of her film The Dirty Picture. Vidya had also promoted Ishqiya in plain saris with a front pallu. The actress was also seen fooling everyone with her disguise during the promotions of Bobby Jasoos.

Cotton sarees: Aditya Roy Kapur may have failed to identify his sister-in-law Vidya Balan by her traits pointed out by Karan Johar on TV show Koffee With Karan in the rapid-fire round but even a critic can identify the actress from the mere mention of the six yards of cotton. While Rekha is the brand ambassador of golden silk kanjivarams, Vidya Balan never gets bored of printed crisp cotton sarees. Moreover, the diva refuses to try lace or chiffon saris and pioneers the cotton revolution wherever she goes.

Jhumkas: Vidya Balan is the quintessential traditional Indian woman as she compliments her sari-clad look with heavy gold, silver or artificial jewellery. Vidya has already confessed her love for chunky jewellery but the diva religiously sticks to traditional designs and is seldom seen in diamonds or matching danglers, unlike her Bollywood counterparts. Vidya also wore the traditional nose-ring at the Cannes Film Festival last year complete with a bindi.

Centrally parted hair: Who said only Indian mommies opt for the central partition of hair to decorate it with vermilion! Our very own Vidya Balan loves the simplest hairdo and completes the look with a bindi. Vidya is rarely spotted in a fussed-over hairstyle and still manages to garner compliments for her ethnic style appeal. The conventional actress maintained the hairstyle at all events – her wedding, promotional events to the Cannes Red Carpet.

Say yes to sleeves: Vidya Balan has forced critics to compare her to the Bachchan bahu, Aishwarya Rai with her full or elbow-length blouses and suits. Vidya Balan is in no mood to try sleeveless attires. The Parineeta loves to pair up her saris with elbow-length blouses and kurtas.
