Simple and intimate shaadi

A few days ago, Preity Zinta got married to her fiancé, Gene Goodenough in LA, in a low key affair. And now, in a quiet ceremony, on March 3, 2016, Urmila Matondkar got married to Kashmir-based businessman Mohsin Akhtar Mir at the actress’ residence. The couple was keen to keep their wedding simple and intimate. Hence, only family and the dearest of the couple's friends were a part of the ceremony, which was solemnised as per Hindu rituals. Celebrated Bollywood designer Manish Malhotra was one of the few guests invited at the marriage.

About the dulha

Mohsin Akhtar Mir is the full name of Urmila’s husband. Apart from being a businessman from Kashmir, he is also into modeling and acting. In fact, he played an important cameo in Zoya Akhtar’s debut, ‘Luck By Chance.’ He appeared in the song ‘Sapno se bhare naina,’ in which Farhan Akhtar’s character fools Mohsin’s character to make sure that the latter doesn’t get selected in an audition. And guess what? Mohsin is 10 years younger to Urmila. He has now shifted to Urmila’s place in Mumbai.

Urmila’s message for her fans

About the wedding ceremony being a hush-hush affair, Urmila told in her statement that they had kept it so as the family wanted it to be a low-key affair and that it was a mutual decision. Her apartment at Turner Road in Bandra was lit-up with lights of various colours while the wedding took place on the terrace. The ‘Rangeela’ actress further said that she sought everyone's blessings while embarking on this new journey. But how did Urmila and Mohsin meet?

Jab they met…

Now, the most important question – How and where did Urmila and Mohsin meet? The couple met for the first time at an event through a common friend. And like a very filmi story, Mohsin instantly fell for the ‘Rangeela’ girl and he, like a typical Hindi film ka hero, expressed his love for her and started pursuing her. Finally, Urmila said a big yes. Like all filmi stories, here’s wishing that they live happily ever after.
