Well, it seems that for Bollywood, older actors pairing up with younger actresses is not at all unusual. With SRK and Deepika setting the trend, all the young actresses are okay with romancing older actors. Salman Khan, who has earlier worked with Sonakshi Sinha and Asin from the younger brigade, will be seen wit debutante Daisy Shah in Jai Ho. He will also romance former Sri Lankan beauty queen Jacqueline Fernandes in his next film 'Kick'. The movie, which is a remake of a 2009 Telugu hit of the same name, will hit theatres on Eid.

Unusual pairings coming up in 2014

Akshay Kumar, who has extensively worked with Sonakshi Sinha from the younger brigade, will be now seen with Southern imports Tamannaah and Shruti Haasan. Tamannaah has been cast opposite Khiladi Kumar in his It's Entertainment and Shruti Haasan will be seen sharing screen space with Akshay in Gabbar.

Farhan Akhtar and Vidya Balan come together for a rom-com, ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’. The movie is a sequel to Pyar Ke Side Effects, which starred Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose in the lead roles. This film hits theatres next month.

Saif Ali Khan will also be seen romancing some fresh faces in 2014. For the movie Happy Ending, Chhote Nawab will be seen opposite Ileana D'Cruz. And in his triple role in Humshakals, he will romance Tamannaah, a southern import.

New kid on the block Alia Bhatt has been paired opposite Randeep Hooda for Imtiaz Ali's Highway. Alia has gone de-glam in this film and it remaisn to be seen if her chemistry with Hooda will work wonders on the silver screen.

Richa Chaddha and Randeep Hooda are another unusual onscreen couple who will come together for the first time in 'Bad'. The movie is inspired by Charles Shobraj's sensational jailbreak from Tihar Jail in 1986, where Randeep is playing the infamous serial killer and Richa his love interest.
