Shares birthday with Rajesh Khanna: One of the interesting facts about Twinkle is that she has the privilege of being born on the same day as dad! She was born on December 29, 1974, and shares her date of birth with her dad, Jatin aka Rajesh Khanna who was born in 1942. Twinkle was born to Rajesh Khanna and his wife Dimple on his 32nd birthday. Twinkle considers herself very lucky to share her birthday with her father and she has lots of childhood memories about her birthday.

Eye Surgery: Very few might know this fact about Twinkle’s life that she underwent an eye correction surgery for her condition of a slight cross eye. During her launch in 1995, she was having this cross eye condition, but after the success of her initial few films she underwent this surgery.

Rejected a Karan Johar movie: Twinkle Khanna has managed to work with almost all leading superstars. But very few wouldknow that the popular role of Tina in Karan Johar’s film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai was initially offered to Twinkle Khanna. In fact Karan wrote it keeping Twinkle in mind, but it eventually went to Rani Mukerji after Twinkle rejected it.

Engaged twice: Twinkle left the industry after marrying Akshay Kumar because she wasn’t enjoying the acting profession anymore. Her last film was Love Ke Liye Kuchh Bhi Karega (2001). But did you all know that Twinkle was engaged twice? Twinkle was reportedly engaged twice in her life, but with the same man, and it was none other than Akshay. After her first engagement with Akshay was called off, she was heartbroken and both of them apparently got engaged again before getting married in 2001.

Left Industry for passion: Most actresses look for options when their acting careers don't take off. But Twinkle Khanna was an exception to the rule. A part time job with an architect made her realize that interior decoration was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. She opted out of Awara Paagal Deewana and bid adieu to her acting career simply because acting did not interest her any more. She left the industry to follow her heart and her passion for interior designing.

Owner of a lifestyle store: Twinkle has her own interior design store at Crawford Market, Mumbai called The White Window, in partnership with her long time friend Gurlein Manchanda. The store has received a prestigious Elle Decor International Design Award (from Indian edition of Elle Decor magazine). Twinkle has started another branch of the flagship store elsewhere in Mumbai and plans to expand it throughout India. She has also done the interiors of several celebrity homes including Rani Mukerji's spacious bungalow.
