Will Salman Khan's ‘Sultan’ cross the Rs 300cr mark?

Salman Khan’s wrestling-themed blockbuster ‘Sultan’ may have pounded its way into the record books while claiming its supremacy at the box office. However, question still remains if the film has enough stem to make it into the exclusive 300-crore club.

‘Sultan’ starring Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma in lead roles, has amassed an estimated Rs. 271 cr nett at the domestic box office so far. Trade analyst predict that the film’s lifetime collection would be around 300-305 crore nett, but those figure only hold true if the film continues to perform well this weekend. If ‘Sultan’ does cross the Rs 300-crore mark, it’ll be the third Bollywood film to achieve the feat after ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’.

Reports suggest that ‘Sultan’ may lose out on its audience down South, because of the release of the Rajinikanth starrer ‘Kabali’.

Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ crosses Rs 182 crore mark in just five days

Salman Khan is the new crowned king of the box office, with his film ‘Sultan’ collecting a whopping Rs 182 crore nett during its five-day weekend. The film continued its phenomenal run at the domesticbox office with collections set to be around 39-40 crore nett. According to reports on BoxOffice India, ‘Sultan’ has maintained over Rs 35 crore nett collection on four out of five days at the box office so far. Trade reports suggest that the business on Sunday may turn out to be the highest single day and the first 40 crore nett breach in a day.

Will ‘Sultan’ score a hat-trick with Rs 35 crore mark today?

‘Sultan’ showed no sign of slowing down at the box office, as it walked away with an estimated nett collection of Rs 35-36 crore. The film that has Salman Khan and Anushka Sharma in leading roles, is now only the second film after ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ to cross this mark at the box office on day-2. According to reports, ‘Sultan’ has managed to draw in the crowds even on the second day, when other films usually face a 15-20% drop in ticket sale. Reports relate this steady income to Eid falling on 7th July instead of 6th July. Aamir Khan’s ‘Dhoom 3’ is currently the only film to collect over Rs 30 crore nett for three days straight at the box office. Will ‘Sultan’ rise to the occasion or will it bite the dust on day three?

Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ opens with third highest collection

Salman Khan has flexed his muscles at the box office once again with ‘Sultan’. While many trade analysts predicted a Rs 150 crore opening for the film, reports on BoxofficeIndia.com state that the film has collected approximately Rs 38 crore on day-1. Backed by positive reviews and advanced bookings, 'Sultan' now occupies the No. 3 spot on the list of the highest opening day collections in Bollywood.
