On a personal note, he also shared his admiration for her sense of humour and a “certain mischievousness” that he came to know of during their film promotions.
Nawaz, who admitted that he took up the project just because Sridevi was in it, recalled feeling shy and “uncomfortable” when the actress commended him for his performance and even said that her kind words wouldn’t sink in because she was such a big actress and that she was a star of such high stature.
The star also shared a treasured memory of Sridevi personally calling him for her birthday party. While saying that he had initially turned down the invite from her husband Boney Kapoor, citing his hectic shooting schedule, he said he couldn’t refuse when the actress herself called him over.
