Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre today took to her social media handles to share a beautiful picture with her mother and father, wishing them on their anniversary. The actress who is a cancer survivor has been an inspiration for many for her fight against the deadly disease and how she stood up as an example.

Sharing a monochromatic picture, the actress also penned some beautiful words for her parents. Sonali captioned the picture saying, "To two of my strongest pillars of strength - Happy Anniversary, Aai and Baba❤"

Sonali Bendre has emerged as a winner after she won the battle against high-grade cancer. The actress was away from the country for her treatment for a few months. The actress remained strong throughout the journey. In a recent interview, the actress recalled her first chemotherapy session and said that once she introspected and started looking things in a positive manner, she decided not to cry anymore on why all of this is happening to her.

Sonali Bendre, who is currently undergoing treatment for her cancer is making to sure to live up to her motto of "switching on the sunshine" each day.
On the occasion of Book Lovers Day today, the 'Sarfarosh' actress, who is an avid reader and a book lover, took to Instagram to share a story where she is seen holding a book in hand at a bookstore. Sporting a crisp white shirt and a hat, Sonali looks extremely comfortable and chic.

For the uninitiated, Sonali has authored the book 'The Modern Gurukul – My Experiments with Parenting'. She has also been running her digital book club since 2017. Through this club, Bendre organises masterclasses, in-conversations on reading trends and arranged giveaways to popularise reading and bring Indian authors to interact with the urban millennial generation.

Sonali Bendre's battle with cancer

In early July, this year, the country woke up to the sad news of Sonali Bendre being diagnosed with “high-grade cancer". The actress herself took to social media to announce the same. She is currently undergoing treatment in New York. Sonali revealed her illness through an Instagram post, where she wrote, "Sometimes, when you least expect it, life throws you a curveball. I have recently been diagnosed with a high grade cancer that has metastised, which we frankly did not see coming. A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them.There is no better way to tackle this, than to take swift and immediate action. And so, as advised by my doctors, I am currently undergoing a course of treatment in New York. We remain optimistic and I am determined to fight every step of the way. What has helped has been the immense outpouring of love and support I’ve received over the past few days, for which I am very grateful.I’m taking this battle head on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me."
