It came as no surprise to anyone that Ranveer Singh won the ‘Best Actor’ award for his portrayal of Bajirao in his much acclaimed period drama, ‘Bajirao Mastani.’ What was surprising was the fact that for once, the quirky actor was all sobered up. After touching Deepika’s parents feet in a very sweet gesture, the actor went on to express his gratitude to his sister for her unconditional support and went on to say, “Thank you for being my second mother."

Shah Rukh Khan

This was the first Filmfare night in years where Shah Rukh Khan did not win a trophy, but that wouldn’t have stopped the actor from being as entertaining as ever while he hosted the event with Kapil Sharma. From the many jokes he cracked on others and on himself, the one that really stuck around with us was when he was pulling Salman Khan’s leg. The actor said, “Salman ne confuse kar diya. Munni badnaam hui pehle. Aur ab Munni ko border paar karva diya.” Ha ha!

Amitabh Bachchan

While receiving the Critic Award for Best Actor for ‘Piku,’ Amitabh Bachchan dedicated the trophy to his daughter, Shweta Nanada. After thanking his director Shoojit Sircar, his co-stars Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan and writer Juhi Chaturvedi, Amitabh went on to prove how much his daughter means to him. The actor, in his acceptance speech said, “I dedicate this award to my daughter Shweta kyunki betiyan khaas hoti hain."

Anil Kapoor

For his outstanding stint as a father to Priyanka Chopra and Ranveer Singh in 'Dil Dhadakne Do,' Anil Kapoor was awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. Naturally he’d want to thanks his family, fans, director Zoya Akhtar, his co-stars, right? No! The first person Anil thanked was Amitabh Bachchan for being a role model to him. He said, “I would like to thank Amit ji as he has been a role model. I was in three minds whether to do this film. This is my 6th Filmfare Award and I hope to win more.”

Moushumi Chatterjee

Moushumi Chatterjee was felicitated with the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. Now you’d think after years of wait the actress might have gotten emotional on holding her first Filmfare trophy, but no, that wasn’t the case.
