Anushka Sharma’s 'Pari' to get a Tamil remake?

Anushka Sharma’s latest release 'Pari' was appreciated by audience and critics alike for a fresh take on horror films in India. The actress had sported a bruised and battered look for the movie that had plenty of gore and violence. Now, it looks like the film’s fame has reached regional cinema as well.

According to reports, the Anushka Sharma starrer might get a remake in Tamil. Horror films have always been very well received in the Tamil film industry, which makes 'Pari' a perfect candidate for a remake. Apparently, the makers are getting a number of good offers and will make an official announcement as soon as they finalise a deal.

'Pari' is not a fairytale

In Hindi, Pari means a fairy, however, the Anushka Sharma starrer 'Pari' is not a fairytale. Even the tagline of the film says the same. The actress will not be seen as a ghost as she did in her previous film 'Phillauri', but if reports are to believed, she will be seen as a possessed person and an abuse victim. This movie is definitely not for the light-hearted audiences.

Anushka Sharma's third production

Anushka Sharma will be co-producing 'Pari' with Prerna Arora's productions house. This is the third film under Sharma's banner after 'NH10' and 'Phillauri'. And looking at her previous films, there are a lot of expectations from the film. In an interview, Anushka had said that being a producer she wants to tell meaningful and different stories and also push the boundaries.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli tied the knot in a secret wedding in Italy. Followed by their two grand receptions, they soon went for a mini honeymoon. The Anushka Sharma's horror drama which also stars Parambrata Chatterjee and Rajat Kapoor will mark the debut of Prosit Roy as a director. He has been the first assistant director for films like 'Phillauri' and 'All is Well' and many other Bollywood films. Not just a director, he has also produced-written a short film and written a TV series.

The release date of 'Pari' was shifted

The shift in the release date of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Padmaavat' affected many other films' release dates. 'Pari' which was initially slated to hit the screens on February 9, was pushed forward to March 2, 2018.

In a statement, talking about the shift, the producers said that they don't have any ego problems to move the release date of the film. And, that they believe in the quality of the film and 'Pari' is very special for Anushka Sharma as it would be her first film post marriage. Hence the makers did not want to spoil it by releasing it alongside a number of movies.

A man was electrocuted on the sets of 'Pari'

A light was electrocuted on the sets of 'Pari' during the shoot of the film in Kolkata. Reportedly, the team asked the lightman to move a few lights from place to other and while doing the same he stepped on a live wire and got electrocuted. He lost his life on the way to the nearby hospital even after the team's quick effort.

Karnesh Sharma who is co-owner of Anushka's production house, in a statement, called it an unfortunate event and helped his family and authorities for his last rites.
