Mohenjo Daro: Things to look forward to

Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Mohenjo Daro' starring Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde releases on August 12, 2016. The film has already managed to pique the curiosity of the audience and here's why we are looking forward to the film...

A pre-historic love story: Let's admit it...apart from history textbooks, we haven't heard much about Mohenjo Daro. Ruins of the ancient city, that were excavated, showed that Mohenjo Daro was a very well-planned civilisation. The word, 'Mohenjo Daro' literally means the mountain of the dead and it would be interesting to find out if this aspect is explored in the film. Ashutosh Gowariker's film is set in that ancient city and if that is not reason enough to watch the film, we don't know what is! Expect larger-than-life sets, elaborate costumes and some mindblowing effects. A dose of history with a dash of entertainment and we are sure that Mohenjo Daro will emerge as a winner.

Ashutosh Gowariker-Hrithik Roshan: The last time Ashutosh Gowariker and Hrithik Roshan came together, they created magic in 'Jodha Akbar.' Not only did the film manage to impress the critics, it also set the cash registers jingling. It won't be wrong for the trade to have expected a lot out of the director-actor combination this time around and going by the buzz that the film has managed to create, it seems possible that the duo surpass the collections of their previous outing and give Bollywood another gem.

Pooja Hegde: Going by Pooja Hegde's first look from the film and the glimpses that we see of her in the trailer, it is a given that Bollywood has found yet another fresh face that's promising. Being her debut film, Pooja doesn't come with any image and that can work highly in her favour. Pooja's earthy look combined with her defined features, make her the perfect choice to play a character for which there is very little reference. Her chemistry with Hrithik is yet unexplored and from the songs it is evident that the two will scorch the screens.

Clash with Rustom: 'Clash' is a dreaded word in Bollywood but it isn't always a bad thing. Given that both 'Mohenjo Daro' and 'Rustom' release on the extended Independence Day weekend, there is a good chance that both films might be able to cash in on the festive mood. Add to that the healthy sense of competition and you are sure that both films will give it their best shot to make the most of the holidays. Besides, the clash might actually be a win-win situation for the audience as the films are completely different in essence and will make for an entertaining watch. Besides, as Ashutosh himself pointed out, his Independence Day release, 'Lagaan,' too had clashed with 'Gadar,' and both films had managed to do well.

AR Rahman's music: AR Rahman is very choosy when it comes to the albums that he composes for. The fact that he has provided music for Ashutosh's 'Mohenjo Daro,' goes on to say a lot about the film's album. Rahman had also composed for the filmmaker's earlier films like 'Lagaan' and 'Jodha Akbar.' Those albums are still cited in the list of some of the best Bollywood film albums of all time and this just adds to the lure of 'Mohenjo Daro.' Who wouldn't want to watch a film with melodious music.
