Kill Dil: Lesser known facts

Off-screen fun: As YRF's Kill Dill is slated for a 14th November release, we look at a few lesser known facts about the film, starring Ali Zafar, Ranveer Singh, Parineeti Chopra and Govinda. All the four actors got along extremely well during the shoot of Kill Dill and the chemistry shows in the trailer and the songs. The cast would chat around the bonfire every night post pack-up. These sessions used to go on till the wee hours of the morning. Ali used to sing live for them and the rest of the cast would join in. They bonded over old classics as Ali sung unplugged versions of the songs. Says Ali, "Kill Dil's shoot will always hold a set of very fond memories for me. Each one in the cast and crew made every day special. Luckily we had a mix of people who were crazy about music so we all connected through it on some other level. At times, we would be up and singing till dawn, and would have return to the sets to shoot after a few hours."

Ranveer Singh takes off pants for Happy Budday: The Happy Budday song from Kill Dil made Ranveer Singh take off his pants. Happy Budday is the birthday song in the film where Ranveer Singh sings at Parineeti Chopra's birthday party. The song was shot in Lavasa at night and it was very hot, around 40 degrees at that time. Owing to the heat, Ranveer Singh, who was wearing leather pants for the song, removed them as the heat got to him and was making him extremely uncomfortable. A pantless Ranveer was quite a sight for many present and created a huge commotion. 200 girls who were dancers in the song, started cat calling and whistling at Ranveer. Hearing the noise, people came to their windows to see what the commotion was about. People even came out of their houses and down in their night suits to see Ranveer without his pants. People took pictures of Ranveer with his pants off and this further complicated things. The unit had to run around taking everybody’s, cell phones and delete the pictures. However, Parineeti took a picture of Ranveer with his pants down and she has said she would keep it to blackmail him.

Govinda and Ranveer compete on the sets of Kill Dil: Ranveer Singh has been a fan of Govinda since his childhood. The star goes speechless in front of the superstar and is simply crazy about him. Ranveer will be seen sharing screen space with Govinda in YRF’s Kill Dil, along with Ali Zafar and Parineeti Chopra. The cast and crew had a gala time on the sets. On some nights after pack up, Ali Zafar, who is a brilliant guitarist, would entertain the unit by playing his guitar. Everyone would break into a jig at some point. The songs played were mostly from Govinda’s films to which his biggest fan, Ranveer, would dance the most. One night there was a dance off between Ranveer and his idol Govinda. The unit began cheering and clapping for the two actors. Ranveer put up a great show with his dance moves and infectious energy. But he was no match for the king of dancing and Govinda walked away as the winner hands down. The unit had great fun and the night was truly entertaining.

Parineeti Chopra trains for Kill Dil: Parineeti Chopra underwent special training for golf for her film Kill Dil. Her character in the film demanded her to learn the sport as she will be seen playing golf in the movie. For that, she had to learn at least the basics of the sport. A special person was hired to come and train the actress for the same. While it was only for a couple of shots, she didn't want it to look fake and wanted to perfect it. Parineeti Chopra is looking extremely different in the film. The actress took keen interest in the sport and loved the whole experience of learning even the basics of the royal sport. A spokesperson for Kill Dil confirms the news and adds, “Yes, Parineeti wanted to perfect the way she would give the shot so she got into the basics of the sport.”

Ranveer Singh calls Parineeti Sweeta: While a lot of people around Parineeti Chopra call her Pari, Ranveer Singh calls her with a different name now. Ranveer very sweetly calls Parineeti “Sweeta”. It is a song in their upcoming film Kill Dil. The song just has mad moves and not a specific dance that people can follow. Ganesh Acharya says, "The best part about shooting Sweeta was that we gave Ranveer Singh full freedom in the song. He could do whatever he wanted to. There is no choreography or a signature move as such. But he has thoroughly enjoyed the song, done masti and at the same time brought the romantic feel to it." Ranveer Singh shares, "Ganesh sir was too sweet to let me do my thing for Sweeta. They are not steps as such. I am just having fun in the song. There was no nervous energy; only excitement all throughout." This is the second time that the two actors will be seen sharing screen space with each other.
