‘Junglee’: Vidyut Jammwal learnt this lesson from the art of Kalaripayattu

Vidyut Jammwal will next be seen in Junglee Pictures’ next titled ‘Junglee’. The actor not only underwent extreme physical transformation and befriended an elephant named ‘Bhola’ but also learnt the art of Kalaripayattu - the martial art from Kerala for the film.

The actor recently shared a thought along with an intense picture of himself with the caption, "KALARIPAYATTU says you cannot heal in the same environment where you got sick... #wildandjunglee #junglee."

Directed by Hollywood director Chuck Russell of 'The Mask' fame, 'Junglee' is set to release around Dussehra on October 19 this year. The film is Junglee Pictures' special venture and is a family adventure film revolving around the special relationship between humans and elephants.

'Junglee': Vidyut Jammwal shares an endearing image of himself with his ‘buddy’ Bhola

Come October 19, actor Vidyut Jammwal will bring the story of a man’s unique relationship with elephants, to the big screen in ‘Junglee’. Produced by Junglee Pictures and directed by American filmmaker Chuck Russell, the upcoming family action adventure will see the hunk play the character Raj, who goes all out to save the mighty tuskers by confronting an international poacher's racket.

On ‘Save The Elephant Day’, Vidyut took to his social media handle to share an endearing image of himself with his buddy Bhola along with an intuitive caption that read, “Sometimes you just lie down and chat with your buddies... the best conversations happen... BHOLA and I... #SaveTheElephantDay.”

Much like in the film’s still, Vidyut can be seen touching the elephant’s trunk to his forehead, but this time, while lounging on the grass. It is almost breathtaking to see how comfortable the two are in each other’s company.

Pics: Vidyut Jammwal becomes elephant whisperer for ‘Junglee’

Vidyut Jammwal is all set to pack a punch in his next family adventure ‘Junglee’, to be presented by Junglee Pictures and directed by Chuck Russell. The actor recently trained with an elephant whisperer to communicate and interact with elephants.
While shooting for ‘Junglee’, Vidyut Jammwal spent most of his time forging a deep bond of trust with the elephants. When he learnt from the mahouts that elephants responded to humans emotionally and were very sensitive to their energies, he trained with the elephant whisperer and the mahout to communicate with elephants and as a result he spent all his free time with the Tusker- Jai and the female elephant Oon to understand their personalities better.
The film is set to release on October 19, 2018.

Homage to the elephant God

An exclusive still from the film was recently released. The picture features Vidyut along with his tusker friend Bhola in the scrim of a forest. A video was also released where Vidyut can be seen seeking the blessings of the Lord Ganesha. Watching him pay respect to the mighty tusker, Bhola, who is his co-star from the film is surely a treat to the sore eyes.

The actor, with his chiselled and extremely flexible body, has been nailing the stunts and action sequences in the film. Vidyut has been in Kerala and has even learnt Kalaripayattu. He enjoyed an exciting childhood in the midst of nature, with cats, dogs and elephants as friends. This previous experience has helped him connect with the subject easily.

'Junglee' is an action thriller about a unique relationship between man and elephants. Vidyut essays the role of a vet, who, on his homecoming to his elephant reserve, encounters and fights an international poacher's racket which kills his father and his herd of elephants.

When biggies join hands

Junglee Pictures and American filmmaker Chuck Russell have come together to helm this iconic project. Priti Shahani, president of Junglee Pictures had reportedly said they reached out to Chuck saying that they had a story which is set locally but could appeal to him since it touches on an issue of global significance, with the United Nations lobbying to end poaching and the ivory movement. He read it, came down to India to meet and discuss the structure with the writer and agreed to direct it.
Chuck Russell served us with a lot of films in the past and now we are looking forward to this one too.

Birthday celebrations

Vidyut Jammwal, who turned a year older on December 10, celebrated his special day working on the sets of ‘Junglee’. However, the actor was barely left to feel like just another day at work. The actor was in for a surprise when the cast and crew of the film celebrated his birthday on the sets of the film. The set was decorated and cakes were cut.
In the pictures, one can see the actor posing with the director Chuck Russell and also feeding cake in one of them while the entire cast in the background can be seen munching on the treat.

Vidyut Jammwal is back to what he does the best. With one of the best bodies in the business, the actor has carved his niche as an action hero in Bollywood. With his upcoming film ‘Junglee’, Vidyut is all set to kick some butts and show off his skills.
He had posted a video on his social media handle where the actor is seen doing push-ups with the support of four glass bottles, two on his hands and two on his feet. Vidyut enters the frame and effortlessly places his limbs on bottles and starts doing his push-ups. The stunt depicts the extreme amount of focus and balance which Vidyut possesses.
He has also been posting images, giving his fans a glimpse of him polishing his skills. Well, the actor is certainly leaving no stones unturned to perfect his skills for the films.
