Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ trailer: Why this is so special

The much-awaited trailer of Ashutosh Gowariker’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ is out and is breath-taking in its scale and aura. By the makers of ‘Lagaan’ and ‘Jodhaa Akbar’ what less could we have expected than a magnum opus! Set in the womb of time, before the birth of Buddha or Christ or even India as it is now, ‘Mohenjo Daro’ is the story of Sarman, played by Hrithik Roshan, who comes to the city and finds it familiar, only to overthrow its dominative ruler and make it his own. Here’s what we loved in the trailer…
2/6

Will quench the thirst of GOT lovers

While millions of Indian and international fans are deeply lost in watching the ninth season of ‘Game of Thrones,’ Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Mohenjo Daro’ may arrive at the right time once the season is over. Featuring the very primitive civilization of the ancient city of Mohenjo-daro, the film trailer shows glimpses of Hrithik’s fight with two giants in the Colosseum-like amphitheater amid a live audience. It will quench the thirst of GOT fans for sure.
3/6

Mind-blowing action

The film is a period drama but by the looks of its trailer, ‘Mohenjo Daro’ rides high on never-seen-before gravity-defying stunts. Hrithik’s encounter with four horses ready to take the leap or the crocodile jump in the film’s trailer are enough to heighten the anticipation. The leaked pictures of the shoot hint at a possible fight between Hrithik and a crocodile and that we are sure will be a nail-biting experience. His duel in an amphitheater with two giants might also be a grueling affair.
4/6

Hrithik Roshan’s charisma

Hrithik Roshan can impress even when he is grim and sweaty. Yes that’s the ‘Duggu’ effect and the stunner looks promising as Sarman in ‘Mohenjo Daro.’ Be it his chiseled physique or his drool-worthy looks, the hunk is a pro at performing daredevil stunts. While the trailer doesn’t show his dance moves, we are sure hope the film allows him to dance.
5/6

The Ashutosh Gowariker effect

Believe it or not, Ashutosh Gowariker is the master of period dramas and he knows how to nail each one of them. The director took us back to the British era with his film ‘Lagaan’ featuring Aamir Khan as Bhuvan and then teleported us to the rich Mughal era with the love story ‘Jodha Akbar’ featuring Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Making his fourth attempt at a period drama (his third film was ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’), ‘Mohenjo Daro’ is as far back in time as he could have taken us.
6/6

Romance reloaded

‘Mohenjo Daro’ is a love story and there is no one as magnetic as Hrithik Roshan when it comes to attracting the ladies. The actor will be seen romancing newbie Pooja Hegde, who has done a few films down in the South. Playing the mystical Channi, Pooja looks ethereal in her unique get-up. And the glimpse of the kiss in the trailer is certainly going to increase expectations.
