Geeta Basra was born and brought up in England

Geeta Basra was born and brought up in Portsmouth, England. However her dream to become a Bollywood actress landed her in the city of Mumbai. Apparently, Geeta had shifted to the city of dreams at a very early age. In an interview with Bombay Times, Geeta was quoted as saying that she had always felt comfortable in Bollywood as the industry had welcomed her with open hands. Geeta has worked in several Bollywood films like The Train, Mr Jor B Carvalho and was recently seen in Second Hand Husband.

Geeta Basra was studying to become a criminal psychologist

Geeta Basra apparently gave up on her plans to become a criminal psychologist to get into Bollywood and become a successful actress. In an interview with the Timesofindia.com, Geeta was quoted as saying that she was studying psychology as the human mind had always fascinated her. However, she claimed that acting had been in her DNA since she was two years old. The actress was further quoted in the report as saying that she had performed on stage when she was all of two and had also done theatre during her school days in Portsmouth.

Geeta Basra serves customers at her parent's shop in England

Despite having made a place for herself in Bollywood, Geeta continues to be grounded. According to a report on Dailymail.co.uk, Geeta helps out at her parent's shop in Portsmouth. Geeta's father was quoted in the report as saying that their customers have no idea that they are being served by a star! In the interview, Geeta Basra also stated that she enjoys being in Portsmouth, which she describes as more calm and peaceful in comparison with the hectic life in Mumbai.

Cricket fraternity calls Geeta Basra as Bhabhiji

Rumours about Geeta Basra and Harbhajan Singh being a hot favourite couple never died down, even when the duo has not been very vocal about their relationship. Harbhajan and Geeta never discuss films

While Geeta Basra comes from a filmi background, she doesn’t discuss films with Harbhajan. In an interview with PTI, Geeta was quoted as saying, "I don't know if he has seen any of my films. We really don't discuss about films." Geeta further described her Mr Right in the report by saying, "He is a very strong headed person and that shows on-screen (in matches)... He got success at an early age and still he is so grounded and humble. He loves his game. I want to learn that from him."

Geeta Basra was called the ‘Ek do teen’ girl

Geeta Basra is a huge fan of Madhuri Dixit and apparently used to dance like her. In an interview with Dnaindia.com, Geeta was quoted as saying that Madhuri was her favourite actress and that she used to dress up like the dancing diva and pose in front of the mirror. Geeta further revealed that she used to perform to Madhuri's songs on stage and was known as the ‘Ek do teen’ girl.
