Films that turned out to be unexpectedly popular!

As we rightly say, content speaks! We agree that a film also does with the star value it has however, content is something that is always the king. We have a few Bollywood films that did expectedly well at the box office and turned out to a hit. Here we go…

2/5

Tanu weds Manu

While the movie was expected to pass off without much attention it surprised us being a hit. The film was a low key project. It didn’t make much noise during the release neither strong promotion was done for the film. However, the performance and story took away the cake. The movie took everyone by surprise so much so that the second instalment was also made. Kangana and R Madhavan got back to action again with this film.

3/5

Pyaar Ka Punchnama

Sometimes fresh faces can change our mindset of looking for a film. However, with such instances film’s content turn out to the hero of the film. ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ had a bunch of young talent and a fresh concept of modern relationships. The film got clicked with the certain section of audience which actually relates the movie. It was a complete entertainer and did extremely well at the box office.

4/5

Jolly LLB

The film ‘Jolly LLB’, which is a courtroom drama starring Arshad Warsi unexpectedly did well at the Box office. The word of mouth for a good content along with promising acting turned out to be profitable for the film. It immensely did well at the ticket windows. A film starring Arshad Warsi as a lead might mislead the audience at the start but later with the film’s content, the movie was a blockbuster and garnered decent moolah. It did so well that makers planned to come up with the sequel of the film and the second instalment featured Akshay Kumar in the lead. ‘Jolly LLB 2’ also did pretty well at the box office.

5/5

Vicky Donor

Ayushmaan Khurrana’s debut film ‘Vicky Donor’ touched the untouched concept which could have never made so easily. However, the not much talked about concept went well with the audience and the film surprisingly did well. It was well received by the audience we could say. The concept of sperm donation came out in public and was later on talked openly without any inhibitions.
