Bollywood actors who resorted to public transport

Though they are celebs, Bollywood actors still have a common man element in them. You might have seen them travelling in choppers, fancy cars and on superbikes, however, there are some actors who ditched all of these and travelled like an ordinary citizen, through public transport.

Be it for a film's promotional activity, a random decision or for a social cause, here are some Bollywood celebrities who resorted to rickshaws, trains, buses and taxis for their travel.

2/12

Amitabh Bachchan

Being the massive celebrity that he is, Amitabh Bachchan travelled in a local train. And while one would expect Big B to be swarmed by fans in the local train, that's hardly what happened. Amitabh took this step for a noble cause - to support a man named Saurabh Nimbkar who took part in a show. Saurabh would sing in trains and give away his earnings to a charity for cancer patients. And when Big B found out about this, he decided to spend some time with Saurabh in a local train and sing with him. Big B travelled that day from CST to Bhandup, singing alongside Saurabh and helping the man with noble thoughts as much as he could. Kudos, Big B!

3/12

Salman Khan

We've seen Salman Khan cycle around Bandra quite often and on one such occasion, he even got Shah Rukh and his son Aryan Khan to join him on the roads. However, some of Bhai's fans have gotten really really lucky when Salman Khan himself got into their autos and took a ride to Galaxy Apartments. Several times the superstar has opted for a three-wheeler ride instead of his own vehicles. Once, after a dinner with his family, Salman Khan sent them off and went for a quick auto ride back home with actor Nikhil Dwivedi. Then on another occasion, Salman Khan who bumped into Katrina while both of them were promoting their films 'Tubelight' and 'Jagga Jasoos' respectively, bid Kat goodbye and hopped into an auto rickshaw with Ramesh Taurani in tow.

Sanjay Dutt

Yes, Sanjay Dutt is also in the list. After having dinner with wife Maanyata at a posh eatery, Baba was seen chit chatting with a few friends outside the diner. And after some time, the actor and another friend hailed down an auto rickshaw and hitched a ride home, thus ditching Sanjay's luxury vehicle. It is also said that Dutt and the friend who accompanied him, not only generously paid the auto driver, but the actor even hugged and obliged the auto driver with some selfies.

5/12

Vivek Oberoi

Actor Vivek Oberoi too felt the necessity to ditch his four-wheeler and hence, rode to work in an auto. Later on, Vivek struck a typical Bollywood style pose and got clicked next to his ride for the day and shared the same on his social media. The actor even posted a picture of the same on his Instagram account.

6/12

Ranbir Kapoor - Deepika Padukone

Not only the seasoned names of B-Town but the young brigade of the industry also fancy public transport. Take for instance actors Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, who preferred to go to the capital to promote their film 'Tamasha' in a train. Apparently, Deepika wished to travel in a train and it was Ranbir, who made the necessary arrangements. The city's Mumbai Central station saw quite the frenzy at the time of the actors' boarding the train.

7/12

Sidharth Malhotra

Like Vivek, the 'A Gentleman' actor Sidharth too preferred to go to his gym in an auto rickshaw rather than his car. But his purpose was totally different. And the excited actor even went on to share a picture of the same and captioned it, "Blast from the past ! took a #rikshaw to gym today." Well, looks like Siddharth was in full-on nostalgia mode that day.

8/12

Vidya Balan

Adding to the list of actresses who took public transport rides is Vidya Balan. Vidya, in order to maintain a low profile, took a cab ride to Mahim Dargah, to seek blessings for her film 'Bobby Jasoos'. However, her loyal fans recognised her and before the situation got inconvenient for Vidya or other worshippers present, the actress's security team escorted her out and she left in another cab.

9/12

Ranveer Singh

It is very very unlikely for Ranveer Singh to 'not' do anything as funky as riding in an auto rickshaw while going for a casual evening. And that's exactly what he did. The actor kept away his fancy cars away as he took an autorickshaw ride while visiting a bar in Mumbai. He was seen accompanied by two of his friends in the three-wheeler and was also seen enjoying the ride.

10/12

Disha Patani

The once 'National Crush Of India' Disha Patani has also opted for a rickshaw ride once. Apparently, on a dinner date with rumoured beau Tiger Shroff, when the couple spotted paparazzi outside their location, in order to not get clicked, they left separately, Tiger in his car and Disha took a ride home in an auto instead.

11/12

Anil Kapoor

Anil ditched his car and travelled by the local train on two occasions. And while his first ride went without a glitch, the second one landed the actor in major trouble. During Ganesh Visarjan, Anil who was shooting in Colaba for his TV series took a train to Vile Parle where his car was waiting to pick him up. And the actor confessed that he reached from Churchgate to Vile Parle in half the time that his car would have got him home. But when Anil used the same tactic (of travelling by train) to promote the second season of TV series, what he got was a notice from the Western Railways for not following safety measures. Anil was seen leaning out of the footboard of the train, which irked the Railways as they felt that Anil's stunts would inspire the young generation.

12/12

Tiger Shroff

To avoid the crazy traffic in Mumbai, actor Tiger Shroff opted to travel by train from Bandra to Vasai when he was shooting for his film 'Munna Micheal'. And while Tiger tried his level best to remain hidden, ardent fans did recognise him even with a hoodie and a mask. However, they did not say it out loud in order to not inconvenience Tiger. The actor, who travelled with sister Krishna had said that he would prefer taking the Mumbai local and save up to 3 and a half hours daily.
