Ajay Devgn: Films that he rejected

Ajay Devgn has proved himself to be a successful actor in all genres over the years. The actor has done everything, from serious roles to comedy and full-fledged action. Several of his characters like Amey Patnaik in 'Raid', Vijay Salgaonkar in 'Drishyam', Bajirao Singham in 'Singham' and Gopal in the 'Golmaal' series have become very popular among the audiences. However, climbing up the ladder of success has not been an easy journey for the actor who has lost out on several big opportunities on the way. Read on to know some big films that Ajay Devgn declined to be a part of...

'Karan Arjun'

'Karan Arjun' was a blockbuster in the careers of Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. It was a film which had almost everything, from good music to drama and action. However, the film would never have had Salman Khan in its cast, had Ajay Devgn not rejected it. According to a report, Ajay Devgn was the first choice to play Shah Rukh Khan's brother Karan in the film, but he walked out of the project since he had creative differences with the film's director Rakesh Roshan.

'Darr'

It is a known fact that Ajay Devgn has not been going great guns with the Yash Raj Films' banner. A couple of years ago, his film 'Son of Sardaar' clashed with their production, SRK-starrer 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan'. They were even caught in a legal tangle. However, back in the 90s, Yash Chopra was eager to cast Ajay in one of his major projects. According to a report, Ajay Devgn was approached by Yash Chopra to play the role of Rahul in 'Darr', however the actor was shooting for another movie in Ooty and never responded to the filmmaker. Thus the film eventually went to Shah Rukh Khan.

'Bajirao Mastani'

Ranveer Singh put in a lot of efforts for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus 'Bajirao Mastani'. According to a report, Ajay Devgn was offered the role, but the deal did not work out. The report further stated that Ajay Devgn was offered the lead role, but the terms and conditions were not agreed upon, from dates to money. On the other hand, SLB's favourites - Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone lapped up the offer along with Priyanka Chopra.

'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'

Ajay Devgn and Kajol have worked together in few films, like 'Pyaar Toh Hona Hi Tha', 'Ishq' and 'Raju Chacha'. However, back in 1998, Ajay Devgn apparently had a great chance to work opposite Kajol. According to a report, Ajay Devgn had infamously walked out of 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. However, the same has not be proved. 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' became one of the most popular films of the 90s and is still liked by a huge audience.
