‘Aiyaary’: Reasons to watch the Sidharth Malhotra film

'Aiyaary’ is a Bollywood crime drama directed by Neeraj Pandey that stars Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee in the lead roles among many others in pivotal roles. The film is a tribute to the brave soldiers, who laid down their lives for the country in 1971. The film was to hit theatres on January 25, 2018, but to avoid a box-office clash with ‘PadMan’ and ‘Padmavat’, the release date seems to have been further pushed to February 9. Here are some reasons to watch the film.
2/5

Eccentric title

The most interesting thing about the film is its title. Not many really know what ‘Aiyaary’ means. Speaking about the film's title, director Neeraj Pandey in an interview said that it meant "the ultimate trickery." Ever since the first look came out, the film has piqued the fans’ interest due to its fascinating title. In fact, in one of the dialogues of the movie, Manoj Bajpayee explains the meaning of the word to put your thinking to rest.
3/5

Stellar star cast

There’s no denying the fact that ‘Aiyaary’ has an amazing star cast. From youngsters in the industry to established players, the film has a great cocktail of theatre artists and mainstream Bollywood actors. 'Aiyaary' stars an ensemble cast of Sidharth Malhotra, Manoj Bajpayee, Pooja Chopra, Rakul Preet Singh, Kali Prasad Mukherjee, Adil Hussain, Kumud Mishra, Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin Shah. Need we say any more to draw you to the theatres?
4/5

Intriguing storyline

The film has an interesting and gripping plot. The film celebrates Vijay Diwas, which marks India's victory over Pakistan in 1971 war that eventually led to the liberation of Bangladesh. It is a tribute to the brave martyrs of our country who lost their lives in 1971. The film sees Sidharth and Manoj Bajpayee play the role of two strong-minded army officers having completely different views. Sidharth essays the role of an honest and diligent army officer who finds out loopholes in the system and has a falling out with his mentor who is played by Manoj. Sidharth then decides to quit his job and work against the ones serving the country. Adil Hussain and Kumud Mishra, who play antagonists, deliver the hate with full conviction. Manoj Bajpayee sets on a journey to stop Sidharth, who has taken the wrong path and save the country from traitors.

Mastermind director

With blockbuster hits like 'A Wednesday!', 'Special 26', 'Baby', and 'M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story' among many others under his belt, Neeraj Pandey on board, itself is a recipe for success. He has a unique way of storytelling. He’s a one-man army, that is a director, producer and screenwriter, all in one.
