Film buffs are quite excited about
Sanjay Dutt reuniting with the 'Dhak Dhak girl' Madhuri Dixit-Nene for a film after 21 years. However, when an enthusiastic reporter asked the actor at a cricket event about him doing
Karan Johar's film with the matinee queen of the 90s, he just walked away.
For those who've come in late, Sanjay and Madhuri were rumoured to be in a relationship, which was the talk of the town way back in the 90s. The affair apparently went kaput after actor was arrested under TADA in 1993 and served a sentence of five years for being in possession of an AK-56 rifle and his connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts. While Madhuri had denied being in a relationship with Sanjay, the latter, while talking to a magazine in October 1993, when he was released for a short period from the jail, had stated that he apologised to the actress after the news broke out as she had to face the heat for it.
Karan's film marks the return of the Sanjay-Madhuri jodi, which was one of the most popular in the 90s. Incidentally,
Sridevi was originally slated to do the role, but her sudden demise in February this year, led to Madhuri stepping in to do the part. The film also stars
Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur.
