When wives crossed the line: Bollywood’s most gripping husband-killer stories

The film follows Maya (Kareena), who lives separately from her abusive husband with her daughter. Her neighbour, Naren (Jaideep), a brilliant but quiet math teacher, is secretly in love with her. When Maya’s estranged husband returns drunk and threatens her, a heated fight leads to his death at Maya’s hands. Naren steps in, helping her dispose of the body and meticulously covering up the crime.

In her debut production Do Patti, Kriti Sanon took on a challenging double role, playing twin sisters Saumya and Shailee. Saumya, the quieter sibling, is trapped in an abusive marriage with Dhruv Sood (played by Shaheer Sheikh). Tired of the violence, she joins forces with her sister Shailee to plot and execute her husband’s murder. Kajol plays a key supporting role in this Netflix thriller.

Priyanka Chopra delivered a chilling performance as Susanna Anna-Marie Johannes, a woman who marries seven times and is responsible for the deaths of each of her husbands. The film showcased her dark, layered character and is considered one of her most intense roles.

The story takes a dramatic turn when Ravi is reincarnated as Monty, who gradually uncovers his past life and sets out to avenge his own death. Featuring Tina Munim and Prem Chopra in key roles, Karz continues to be celebrated for its gripping storyline, memorable performances, and evergreen music.

Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, the sequel to Hasseen Dillruba, stars Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, and Sunny Kaushal in lead roles. The story is a thrilling mix of love, betrayal, and murder, packed with twists and suspense. In this chapter, Rani Kashyap (Taapsee) marries Sunny’s character but ultimately kills him, driven by her enduring love for Rishu (Vikrant Massey).
