Kangana is currently gearing up for her upcoming historical war biopic 'Manikarnika : The Queen of Jhansi' that releases on 25th January 2019 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages simultaneously.
At a recent media interaction, when Kangana was asked about identifying herself with Rani Lakshmi Bai in real life, she revealed that she doesn't think that she identifies herself with the queen completely as her life was very extreme.
She further said that it would be naive of her to say that she identify with the queen's life or that say her life is similar to the queen.
Kangana explained the issues that old India faced and said that issues which prevails these days are like 'amiron ki gambhir samasyaaien' while in those days, there were real problems. The way the queen struggled, or even how unfortunate her death was everything was real and extreme and it's too much for us to even realise it's intensity.
Nowadays, people fight cases openly as they have a proper constitution. Jhansi was one of princely states at that time, especially a Hindu princely state and perhaps the richest. So the issues they faced were all real. Kangana further expressed that she do identify with Rani Lakshmi Bai's spirit. And that is what Kangana have tried to convey it through the movie. Kangana agreed upon the qualities of not giving up, standing up for what she feels is right and having a voice is definitely what Kangana identify with the queen of Jhansi.
'Manikarnika' produced by Zee Studios in association with Kamal Jain, releases on 25th January 2019 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages simultaneously
