Vivek Agnihotri recently revealed that he fired a prominent Bollywood actor due to an incident involving the actor's manager. Taking to X, the filmmaker described the manager as "arrogant" and revealed that the decision was made last week. He noted that the manager was from a talent agency associated with a major celebrity’s star kid, but he chose not to disclose any names.
The situation gained attention when renowned casting director
Mukesh Chhabra expressed his frustration on X about the numerous people involved in managing actors.
He tweeted, “The current state of the film industry: one actor, 200 casting directors, and 15,680 managers.”
Reposting the statement, Vivek said, “I had to fire a lead actor last week because his manager was so arrogant and behaved as if he had the prerogative to be like this just because he is an employee of a ‘Huge Celeb’s’ Star Kid Talent Agency’. These middlemen have destroyed more careers than made it. Do a workshop and train these kids.”
Agnihotri has been focused on his upcoming film, 'The Delhi Files'. Earlier this year, he announced on X, “#TheDelhiFiles is going on floors this year, as scheduled. Release next year. No big stars. Only big content.” He also noted that this film will be the final installment in a trilogy that includes 'The Tashkent Files' and 'The Kashmir Files'.
Last year, Vivek revealed that his next project following 'The Delhi Files' will be titled 'Parva'. The film is based on the Kannada book of the same name written by S. L. Bhyrappa.
