Urmila Matondkar announced her return to acting in 2022 with an OTT series titled Tiwari. However, reports surfaced that the project had encountered difficulties and was stalled. The series follows Kalki, played by Urmila, who is released from prison after serving time for a crime she did not commit, and 14 years later, she sets out to find the person who framed her.Producer Utpal Acharya addresses rumorsProducer Utpal Acharya in conversation with Hindustan Times informed that Tiwari was shot in a start-to-end schedule in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and media reports suggesting a delay in the project are all untrue. Moreover, there were no creative differences with the director Saurabh Varma. The series is currently in the post-production stage and they are aiming to release it in February 2026.

Since it is a revenge-thriller drama, abrupt cuts were not possible, which caused the delay in post-production.
