’, ‘Sarbjit’, ‘Gangs Of Wasseypur’, and ‘Love Sonia’ among others, it's rare to find fault in Richa Chadha's performances. But for some reason, a section of people were not quite happy with her in the recent release,‘

Section 375

’. In fact, the actress, who played the role of Hiral Gandhi, was compared to Akshaye Khanna, whose performance as a lawyer in the same film was much appreciated.

Richa, however, seems unfazed by the criticism and laughed it off in an interview with a news website. She reportedly said that if she did a ‘Bholi Punjaban’ (a character she played in ‘Fukrey’), in a serious and real film like 'Section 375', it would be melodramatic. She believes that people have gotten used to seeing her do aggressive roles that she's come to be synonymous with since 'Masaan' days. If she does not slap or abuse, people feel that she's not acted enough in a film.

Richa feels that she has given a nuanced performance as a young and inexperienced lawyer, who has worked with an experienced lawyer, played by Akshaye, before. Besides, she adds, Akshaye always had the more prominent role in the script from the beginning. And she was happy to play second fiddle to an actor of his calibre, who's known to do selective work. The senior actor, she praises, is best at what he does.

The actress had posted about Akshaye in the past, calling him 'a gem'. "Most underrated actor ever... and a gem, a true professional, a secure costar and a pleasure to work with! Press Conference #Section375," wrote Richa.
