‘Student Of The Year’, ‘Simmba’, ‘Liger’: 5 films for which Kiara Advani was the first choice

Kiara Advani has slowly but gradually made it to the top of the success ladder in Bollywood with her choices of films and performances. While she has hit films like, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’, 'Kabir Singh’ and ‘Shershaah’ to her credit, there are also many big banner movies which either slipped through her hands or the actress rejected them. From ‘Student Of The Year’ to ‘Simmba’ and ‘Liger’, here are movies for which Kiara was the first choice!

Karan Johar’s ‘Student Of The Year’ gave a huge launch to actors like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. However, not many know that even before Alia bagged the role of Shanaya, Kiara had auditioned for the part. However, the role eventually went to Alia Bhatt. The film was a blockbuster hit and all the three actors have witnessed immense growth in their career graphs ever since their debut.

Rohit Shetty’s ‘Simmba’ starred Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in the lead role. However, reports were rife that producer Karan Johar wanted to cast his ‘Lust Stories’ actress in the film. But the director had some contrary views. According to Shetty, Kiara would have been a misfit in ‘Simmba’. Kiara’s loss turned out to be Sara’s gain who eventually bagged the role.

While the casting of Farhad Samji’s ‘Housefull 4’ was on in full swing, reports doing the rounds suggested that Kiara Advani had been roped in for the film and would be paired opposite Bobby Deol. However, after much deliberation, the makers finally zeroed in on Kriti Kharbanda. The movie also starred Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hegde in lead roles.

Kiara Advani and Vijay Deverakonda had impressed one and all with their onscreen chemistry in a commercial. Following which, the makers of the upcoming pan-India film, ‘Liger’, were keen to rope in the actress opposite the ‘Arjun Reddy’ star. However, Kiara reportedly did not take up the offer owing to her packed schedule. The makers then signed up Ananya Panday for the role.

After ‘Kabir Singh’, the makers of the film had approached Kiara Advani for yet another collaboration. The said film was reportedly a women-centric entertainer titled, ‘Apurva’. However, Kiara apparently rejected the offer. According to reports, Kiara and her team heard the story and although they liked it, they felt it was a major risk for her at this point. The makers are yet to rope in another actress for this film.
