Singham Again to go on floors this year, Deepika Padukone will join Ajay Devgn in the action-drama: Reports

Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty, a match made in heaven when it comes to commercial potboilers, are all set to reunite for Singham Again. According to reports, the movie will go on floors this year in July and Deepika Padukone has been roped in for a key role. Not only this, it seems like Rohit has already locked in a Diwali 2024 release for the same.

Rohit had earlier revealed that there will be strong female lead in Singham Again at the song launch of Cirkus in December last year.He quoted, “Everyone knows that my next film is Singham Again, belonging to the cop universe. Every time, I am asked ‘Lady Singham kab aayegi?’. Toh Singham Again mein Lady Singham aayegi.”
According to Bollywood Hungama, apart from Ajay Devgn helming the movie, Ranveer Singh from Simmba and Akshay Kumar from Sooryavanshi will also make an appearance in the same. A source told the website, “It is an entire cop universe, and like the Marvel Universe where film featured cameos by other members, Singham Again will also feature cameos. Like in Simmba where both Ajay and Akshay made cameos, albeit in the post-credits, and later in Sooryavanshi where Ranveer and Ajay were seen, Singham Again will also feature Akshay and Ranveer.”
The source added, “These films are being planned to coincide with each other, so it is obvious that all three will feature in each other’s films.” It is said that the movie will feature a common climax where all the protagonists will come together.

Coming back to Deepika Padukone, she has earlier worked with Rohit Shetty in the blockbuster Chennai Express with Shah Rukh Khan. She also had a cameo in Cirkus, released last year, starring husband Ranveer Singh. The movie could not perform well at the BO.
