Singer of Its Magic from 'Koi... Mil Gaya', Taz Stereo Nation passes away in UK
Taz from the superhit 90s group Stereo Nation, known for hits like Pyar Ho Gaya, Nachenge Saari Raat and Gallan Gorian, has passed away at the age of 54. He was based in the UK. Tarsame Singh Saini also known as Johnny Zee had recently recovered from an undisclosed medical condition and a coma. Some unconfirmed reports suggest he was suffering from hernia and his worsening condition required surgeries that were delayed because of the pandemic. The cause of his death has still not been reported.
Taz Stereo Nation became popular in 1989 with the album Hit The Deck. Stereo Nation, his most popular venture was formed in 1996. Along with other Indian artists from the UK, Taz was considered one of the pioneers of Asian fusion music, which peaked during the late 90s and early 2000s.
Taz had come out coma in March 2022 and that time, his family had released a statement, “Taz is doing well and no longer in a come, he’s showing improvements everyday. Many thanks for all your prayers, well wishes and support in this difficult time. When we have more positive news for you, we will let you know. Thanks again for your positive thoughts.”
Taz had worked in movies like Don’t Stop Dreaming and Sambar Salsa, while he scored songs in popular Hindi films like Tum Bin, Koi… Mil Gaya, Race and more recently in Batla House.
