Shruti Haasan flew back to Chennai last week to start a Tamil film, 'Thala 56', with Ajith. The 29-yearold actress who plays a feisty lawyer in the film returns to her 'Gabbar Is Back' avatar. “I like my co-stars to be clear-headed and focussed, like my father (Kamal Haasan) who is not just the smartest on the sets but also understands the entire machinery," asserts Shruti.READ: I have had to rebuild my relationship with my father: Shruti Haasan The actress, who wrapped up Anees Bazmee's action-comedy, 'Welcome Back', with John Abraham, earlier this month says that he reminds her of her father.“They both bring positive energy to the sets," she says. “It's important not just to be positive but also that the actors fit their characters convincingly.
Even at this age, my dad looks fabulous and I know how much commitment and discipline it takes.I'm neither as fit as him nor John, I keep eating all the time," she laughs.
John and Shruti will wrap up another film, the action drama, Rocky Handsome, by the end of the year. She has two more films which she is shooting simultaneously, including Milan Luthria's Baadshaho with Ajay Devgn and an yet-untitled action flick directed by AbbasMustan. “It is an ensemble cast film which is still in pre-production. I'm told I may be paired opposite a new face," she says.
