Shraddha Kapoor visited her 'aaji' Lata Mangeshkar at the hospital on Saturday

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar passed away today. Her health condition deteriorated on Saturday, prompting the doctors to put her back on ventilator support. After Asha Bhosle and union minister Piyush Goyal, actress Shraddha Kapoor and her mother also visited the veteran singer at the hospital on Saturday.

The 'Baaghi' actress was snapped arriving at the hospital in her car. The Kapoors share a close bond with Lata Mangeshkar.Shraddha fondly calls her 'aaji' and often shares pictures with the singer on her Instagram handle.

Last year, during Lata ji's birthday, the actress had posted a beautiful photo with the veteran singer. ''Happy birthday Lata aaji @lata_mangeshkar ✨💜'', she had captioned the post.

''It is with profound grief that we announce the sad demise of #LataMangeshkar at 8:12 am. She has died because of multi-organ failure after more than 28 days of hospitalisation post #COVID19'', said Dr Pratit Samdani, who was treating her at Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital.
The authorities announced a state funeral and two days of national mourning for the singer.
In 2001, Mangeshkar was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour. She received France's Legion d'Honneur in 2009 in recognition of her contribution to Indian music and cinema.
