Shah Rukh Khan and
Salman Khan shared screen space in 'Karan Arjun' and since then they've been called by these screen names every time they've made a joint appearance together. When they reunited on screen after 30 years for 'Pathaan', fans just couldn't keep calm. They have shared a bond that’s seen both highs and lows over the decades. Their friendship, which began in 1995 with 'Karan Arjun' is always considered special for their fans as they are the biggest superstars in the country today. Veteran choreographer Chinni Prakash who worked with them on that film, has recalled some memories of 'Karan Arjun', especially, an incident where both SRK and Salman were protectors for women on the set who were being harassed by men.
Chinni Prakash had choreographed ‘Bhangda Paale’ for the film and has spokes about the experience in an interview with Friday Talkies. Reminiscing about the time when both Shah Rukh and Salman were rising stars, he narrated how the two didn’t hesitate to take action when a few men misbehaved with the women on set. Chinni shared, "During the shoot, one of the villagers started teasing girls on the set. Salman got very angry. Shah Rukh picked up lathis and started beating them. A big fight started. Then Salman, me and Shah Rukh, we took the girls in a van and took them to the hotel.”
In the same conversation, the choreographer also opened up about the camaraderie between the two actors while shooting Karan Arjun. He mentioned that since it was his second collaboration with Salman, he shared a closer bond with him at the time. Chinni recalled, "It (Bhangda Paale) was an iconic song because both the heroes were dancing together, and they both were upcoming superstars. Salman was very close to me because I did his second film. Shah Rukh was not close to us. He was a little away.”
There was a phase when SRK and Salman had a fight and did not speak to each other for a few years. But their reunion at Baba Siddiqui's Eid party remains etched in the memories of fans and since then their friendship has continued to remain.
