actor
Akshaye Khanna will be back on the big screen with the upcoming courtroom-drama ‘
Section 375
’. The star will be seen playing the role of Tarun Saluja, a sharp-witted criminal lawyer who believes even a convicted rapist has the constitutional right for legal defence.
We got a glimpse of him battling it out with
Richa Chadha in the film’s trailer that released recently. The trailer left the audience intrigued and divided with some rather unsettling scenes pertaining to the system and the manner of dealing with such crimes.
While talking to a media house recently, Richa set the record straight that the film doesn't take sides but, gives an insight into a deep concept which was never focused on or brought into action. Talking about the case which is taken up in the film, she shared that the law is clear that the burden of proof lies with the accused and that the law is friendlier so that women can report their sexual harassment cases.
While Richa will play a lawyer battling it out for justice for the alleged victim, she will face stiff opposition from Akshaye’s character, whose morals one begin to question in the heat of the courtroom discussions.
Directed by Ajay Bahl, the film releases on 13th September.
