Salman Khan surrounded by bodyguards as he arrives at Malaika Arora's mother's house to offer his condolences - WATCH
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was seen visiting the residence of Malaika Arora's mother, Joyce Polycarp, to offer his condolences following the recent passing of Anil Mehta.
In a heartfelt gesture, Salman arrived at the family’s home in Mumbai late Thursday evening to show his support during their difficult time and offer his condolences to the grieving family.
Dressed in a simple blue shirt and jeans, Salman was clicked by the paparazzi as he made his way into the building premises. The actor, on his arrival, was surrounded by bodyguards. Men in uniform were seen standing around the actor as he made his way from his car into the residential complex. Once inside, he was surrounded by 6 men who followed him into the building to ensure his safety.
Salman's security has been keeping a watchful eye over him after the death threats he received early this year. The heightened security measures come after reports claimed that a gunman from Lawrence Bishnoi's gang opened fire outside his house in Canada for his collaboration with Khan in his latest music video.
Meanwhile, Salman and the entire Khan family showed up at Malaika's family home to offer their condolences to the family, still reeling in shock over Anil's sudden demise. Malaika's ex-husband Arbaaz Khan was also among the early few to arrive at the house to be by the family's side when news broke of Mehta's death by apparent suicide.
While the death case began as an apparent suicide investigation, various reports later suggested that the police were also investigating a possible accidental death.
PTI reported that the Mumbai Police on Thursday recorded a statement of Joyce, in connection with Anil's death as she was in the flat when the incident took place. Joyce in her statement reportedly told police that she saw Anil's slippers in the room and started looking for him before she heard the building's watchman shouting for help, and looked down from the balcony.
Police will also record the statements of Malaika and her sister Amrita Arora besides the watchman and eye-witnesses in a day or two, the official said.
As per the initial autopsy report, Anil Mehta died due to multiple injuries to the head and other organs, the official confirmed.
