Saif Ali Khan moves MahaRERA seeking compensation of Rs 7.46 crore from builder: Report

Saif Ali Khan is basking in the reviews of 'Vikram Vedha'. His next film 'Adipurush' drew flak after the teaser release for 'inaccurate depiction of Hindu deities'. On the personal front, the actor recently moved Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) seeking reliefs over delayed possession of property.

Saif had reportedly bought three commercial spaces on the seventh and eighth floors of MidCity building in Bandra Kurla Complex for a sum of around Rs 53.34 crore. The developer had promised the possession of the property by July 2017, but failed to meet the deadline. According to Free Press Journal, Saif such is seeking a compensation from the developer, amounting to Rs 7.46 crore along with 18% interest for delayed possession. The report further stated that the project’s completion date was changed to December 2019, and the developer failed to execute and register new agreements.

The developer reportedly refuted the actor's claims and reasoned for delay in completion, and claimed that the actor was approached to take possession of the units, but he neither took possession nor made the balance payment.

MahaRERA passed an order providing partial relief to both parties the report further stated.
