Model-turned actor Rishi Miglani, who made it big in the modeling and small screen, is now all set to make a comeback but this time as a debutant actor in a Bollywood film. Recently he was spotted in Delhi and we caught up with him. Rishi spoke about his journey from modelling to Bollywood and the reason he shifted his base back from Mumbai to his hometown Jaipur forever.Acting was never a planned career option, I pursued it more as a hobby Honestly speaking I belong from a business class family and have no background in acting. Acting was a passion that I tried to pursue it and hence went to Mumbai few years back to make a career. Since a child I had always been inclined towards theatre and modelling. My parents were always encouraging and supportive and finally I decided to shift to Mumbai to make a career in the modeling world. Frankly, I was lucky and didn’t have to struggle much to get my break in modeling. I had got my photoshoot done by the celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani and within a week I started getting calls for various TV commercials…that’s how my career in the industry started..I finally decided to shift to Mumbai for a few months.
In this period I did a lot of print ads for various companies also did a reality show on MTV called Making the Cut etc, Bollywood was never in my mind it just happened. It was only when I was approached by my family friend Moorad Ali khan to be part of his upcoming film Khwaabb and that’s how I got the role to do in a Bollywood movie. I was offered to do a supporting actor role. Both the role and script sounded very exciting and hence I grabbed the offer. Moreover, being a sports person I was more interested to do this role as the film is based on sports. I’m in the supporting role with Nafisa Ali. It’s an important film for me. It has a great message for sportsmen, we have a lot of unnoticed talent in the country and if private companies and the govt. comes fwd. to explore and promote it, believe me we can have some World Champions! I’m also happy Salman Khan is promoting the film. It was heartening experience to play the role in the movie as it’s so much me. We did a lot of shooting of the movie in Delhi and UP. It’s a very small role but frankly I haven’t been choosy at all with my role in the movie. For me any role is ok till I can showcase my acting skill and entertain my audience on the screen.” From Mumbai back to Jaipur foreverSo why did he suddenly decide to shift back to Jaipur when he was making a good career in the modeling and acting? “I shifted to Jaipur two years back as I was getting married. I was seeing my wife Pooja for almost 12 years before I got married to her and it was mutual decision to settle after marriage back in Jaipur. But that doesn’t mean I have stopped working. But yes, definitely after living in Mumbai and then coming back to Jaipur wasn’t easy. But slowly and gradually I adjusted and was happy to see that my city had changed so much. We have the best hotels, some lovely coffee shops, restaurants in Jaipur. People had started partying hard and the nightlife in Jaipur has seen a drastic change. Now with so many clubs and pubs that had opened its unbelievable to see the local people partying hard late night at clubs. It was an eye opener. Finally I have started Jaipur again and don’t miss Mumbai at all. The city is not too fast and not too slow, its just perfect. I love the people here and specially the Rajasthani culture. It has a touch of royalty in it. The food here is just awesome, my favourite is keema batti and lal maas. I still pursue modeling and acting sitting in Jaipur (which isn’t that easy) but it’s just a hobby, so never mind.Jaipur will miss all the IPL season fun and mastiWill he miss watching all the IPL action in Jaipur? “Jaipur has a lovely stadium near the Polo ground, and we all used to look forward to the IPL. It is so disappointing that we are not having the IPL matches here this time. It has broken many hearts and I can see the tourism being affected as well. A lot of my friends are taking direct flights to Dubai to go and watch it. I will enjoy watching it at different restaurants in the evening.Delhi is my second homeRishi, who frequently loves to drive down from Jaipur to Delhi twice in a month, tells us, “ I have studied in Delhi Public School and Delhi is like a second home, I’m there every 10 days. Mostly I stay with my sister but my wife and I are also very fond of trying different hotels so we sometimes stay in hotels to explore more. Every time we are in Delhi, it means decreasing your bank balance we shop a lot here, and we love our Dilli for it. Khan Market and Emporio Mall are our favourite destinations in Delhi."Khwaabb - Teaser Trailer
