Rhea Kapoor, Dia Mirza, Yami Gautam: Minimalistic brides of Bollywood

A Bollywood wedding is the stuff of fairytales. Ranveer Singh-Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma-Virat Kohli, Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas and others put on a spectacle with their larger-than-life weddings. Even Anil Kapoor’s daughter Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja tied the knot in a grand way. But her sister Rhea Kapoor opted for an unconventional ceremony. She kept her wedding with Karan Boolani quite low-key and intimate affair. If you think that weddings are supposed to be a big affair, then these celebrity weddings will surely change your mind. We have Bollywood celebs who tied the knot in the most minimalistic manner and also nailed their bridal looks for it. Take a look:

She opted for a white vintage lace gown for her big day. She stunned in a basic white dress while her husband sported a blue suit. Speaking about her wedding, the actress had told BT, “There’s no better feeling than being married to your best friend. We’re so excited about spending our life together.”

Yami Gautam

Yami Gautam’s private wedding took everyone by surprise. She tied the knot with ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’ director Aditya Dhar. The duo got married in Himachal on June 4. She kept her wedding quite simple and real. She wore her mother's 33-year-old traditional maroon silk saree that featured intricate gold work which she styled with the traditional Himachali Nath, gifted by her grandmother. She completed her look with an antique regal gold choker set and maang tikka. Earlier, speaking about her low-key wedding, Yami had told BT, “The more I attended big weddings, I knew I didn’t want that. Of course, we don’t know the meaning of marriage early on, but going by my understanding and experience of attending weddings, I was sure about what I didn’t want. I am fortunate that both Aditya and I shared this thought. We both are averse to the wastage that happens in weddings — food, flower decorations and so many other things.”

Rhea Kapoor

Unlike Sonam Kapoor's lavish wedding, Rhea tied the knot with her longtime boyfriend Karan Boolani at Anil Kapoor’s house in an intimate ceremony on 14 August. The duo made their wedding official on social media by sharing dreamy pictures from their unconventional wedding. Being a designer herself, Rhea opted for a vintage look on her big day. Skipping the traditional red outfit, she went for a classic white-and-gold look. She sported an ivory chanderi saree with a half-sleeve blouse which she styled with a pearl veil draped over the head, her mother’s jewels, and a platinum engagement ring.
