Ranveer Allahbadia breaks silence on celebs claiming to boycott his show after India's Got Latent controversy: 'We never invited them in the first place...'
After months of silence, YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, widely known as BeerBiceps, is finally speaking out about the storm that followed his controversial appearance on India’s Got Latent. He opened up about the toughest chapter of his life, how he’s coping, and what’s next.
On Prafful Garg’s YouTube show, Ranveer shared that despite having no income for two months, he ensured his team continued receiving their salaries. He reflected on being in survival mode during the controversy and said the emotional impact is only sinking in now. He also spoke about the toll it took on his family, especially his mother, who was targeted by a news channel. While he struggled to process his emotions at the time, he admitted to feeling a deep sense of anger—mostly directed at himself.
He also reflected on the backlash, calling it a “feeding frenzy,” especially after some celebrities falsely claimed they had rejected invites to his show—when in reality, they were never invited. While he initially felt anger and disappointment, he acknowledged that the situation stemmed from his own actions. The controversy gave him an unexpected break after six demanding years of podcasting. He said he's now focused on moving forward and has been working on forgiving others—and himself—in the process.
Allahbadia also opened up about the financial strain caused by the ban. He recalled staying with a childhood friend during the early days, with support from his family, mentors, and a few people from the film industry. Despite not being entirely alone, he described feeling a deep sense of darkness. The situation left him questioning whether his mistake truly warranted threats to his mother and a complete halt in income. Although he managed to continue paying salaries, he called it the most difficult phase of his life—one he feels went largely unnoticed.
Earlier, singer B Praak publicly criticised Ranveer following the controversy, claiming he had cancelled a planned appearance on the BeerBiceps podcast. He questioned Ranveer’s values, pointing out the disconnect between his promotion of spirituality and his controversial remarks. However, Praak later clarified his stance, telling Hindustan Times that he was actually a fan of the podcast and had genuinely been looking forward to appearing on it. He added that the delay had more to do with scheduling issues on both sides, not a deliberate boycott.
